Women’s Ministry – WMU
The Woman’s missions ministry within our congregation, Helping Hands Ministry, is known at the state and national level as the “Woman’s Missionary Union”or WMU. This ministry was founded in 1888 and has been serving faithfully for over 125 years.
We believe missions is a lifestyle and seek to encourage and provide opportunities for all of our members to engage in, pray for, educate about and support missions endeavors. We also strive to cooperate with other churches and the Union Baptist Association.
How do we do this at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church:
- Praying for and educating ourselves about local and world missions.
- Financially supporting the following ministries: Lottie Moon Christmas Offering; Annie Armstrong Easter Offering; Baptist Children’s Home; Christian Woman Job Core; Red Box Prison Ministry; Hygiene Kits for the UBA; Relay for Life; Donna Pittman Toy Store; Packs of Love; Crisis Pregnancy Center; Gift cards for area schools; “Recharge” Wednesday night supper; gift cards and donations to our members who may need support.
- We also present bibles to newly married couples of the church.
- We also organize and support bridal and baby showers.
Why do we support and do what we do? Because we care. Because God sent His one and only Son for us, and all those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
Please come join us the first Wednesday night of each month at 7pm.
